Our
Values
The Team
How long has lightbox been around and what was the inspiration for its creation?
Initially Lightbox Creative was started as a creative outlet for producing photography and design. Even today - producing a powerful and complimentary image to support a body of work is a founding value. How exciting is it when all the visual elements are created as a cohesive and truly authentic set of expressions to converse with an audience. Every aspect can be crafted, only now we have a full team of talented makers!
What is your professional purpose?
Today my purpose is to be supportive and critical all in one, I’m a listener, a thinker, a challenger and a helper. I love seeing growth in people and get joy from the ‘aha’ moments, often found during the most intense stage of a project, when a campaign comes to fruition or through a collaborative workshop or the answers can be found in the strangest of places. Staying inspired and connected is key professional role. I also like to understand what it’s like from someone else’s perspective and seeing if we can get things to line up so it’s a comfortable fit which allows growth for everyone.
What challenges have you faced and how have you embraced and learnt from them?
Standing in front of a camera, rather than behind! Just be yourself, relax even when the rule book says you shouldn’t.
What gets you excited about the future for the studio?
Always learning and meeting new clients, learning about their business and their goals is something that never ceases to get me really excited, be it beautiful interiors, a community project or pink spray painted trees in the forest, I want to know it all, why, where and how can we work to give it impact in an increasingly noisy marketplace and create and brand that has an engaged and loyal audience.

How long have you been with Lightbox Creative and what attracted you to the role?
I have worked at Lightbox Creative since early 2012, and love the diversity and flexibility that working in a smaller studio provides. The work is constant, fast paced, always evolving and changing, no two days are the same.
What has been your biggest accomplishment since joining Lightbox?
Too many to count now, every day a new challenge presents itself but definitely moving from a Senior Designer role into an Art Directing and Studio Management position, has been a huge accomplishment.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
A long black whilst checking out the latest trends.

How long have you been with Lightbox Creative and what attracted you to the role?
I started at Lightbox creative in 2017, following a long stretch at a city based advertising agency. After meeting with Katie and Georgie for an interview, I immediately knew I wanted to work at LBC. The team were warm, fun, creative and the client list was very attractive. After heading back to the UK in 2019 for some long overdue family-time, New Zealand just couldn’t keep me away and I returned at the end of 2021.
What has been your biggest accomplishment since joining Lightbox Creative?
Moving from a team of 200 to 4 helped me grow immensely as both a Designer and a person. Lightbox Creative has really helped feed my creativity because, with each job, you’re encouraged to push the boundaries. The chance to learn new skills has been great and overall I feel like I’ve grown into a much more confident Designer.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
My wife and 2 small children. The running of a good house should be like a well-oiled machine – I’m the cog that makes the breakfast so I have to get out of bed fast. Once I’ve dropped the kids off at nursery and school, I look forward to the short drive to work and a quick morning catch-up with the team over a cup of tea.
